About This Site
Home Gym Seniors Hub is written for people over 60 who would rather train at home than drive to a gym. We cover the gear that fits a spare room and goes easy on older knees, hips and backs: recumbent exercise bikes for low-impact cardio, adjustable dumbbells and resistance bands for strength, and balance pads and thick exercise mats for steadiness and floor work. Every review is written from real use, and nothing here replaces advice from your own doctor or physical therapist.

Exercise Safety for Older Adults
Talk to your doctor or physical therapist before you start a new exercise routine, especially if you have heart or blood pressure conditions, osteoporosis, a joint replacement, diabetes, or a history of falls. Nothing on this site is medical advice.
Stop right away if you feel chest pain or pressure, shortness of breath that does not settle, dizziness, lightheadedness or sharp joint pain. Start with light resistance and short sessions, and add slowly over weeks, not days.
Balance work carries a real fall risk. Do it next to a sturdy counter, chair back or wall you can grab, on a clear floor with no rugs or cords nearby, and never on a balance pad with socks alone. Check resistance bands for nicks or thinning before each use, since a snapped band can strike the face, and anchor door attachments on the hinge side of a closed door.
Lift and set down dumbbells with care, keep the floor clear of plates and handles, and confirm the locking mechanism on adjustable weights is fully seated before every lift. Keep stationary bikes on a level surface, follow the manufacturer's weight limits, and get on and off slowly. Stay hydrated and keep a phone within reach when you train alone.
